Moving fully back to USAA FSB from FCU …

Yep, had always stuck with USAA FCU (for USAA Employees at the time, now called United San Antonio Federal Credit Union after they diverged from USAA) and had been loyal even through woes, but after my Debit card was canceled on the 10th of December and they did not express me a new one I’ve been without a card since. It’s now January 1st, 2010 and nada… and this happens to be (including my BIL) the 4th time they’ve hosed sending a Debit card out … So I’ve taken the plunge back to USAA’s Federal Savings Bank because of it. Wish it wasn’t this way, but that’s how it goes… and with the cool iPhone @Home deposit app it’s actually a jump in the RIGHT direction 
Palm Pre not bad and AT&T fails with new iPhone 3.0

I went and looked at the Palm Pre on Saturday. It’s not a bad phone but it’s a bit small for me and being on Spring is a 1-2 combo that left me waiting for WWMD today. Imagine my ‘surprise’ when it was tevealed that the King of Carrier Fail, AT&T, would not have features ready for the new iPhone OS… And they are the only option here in the US without unlocking. Nice.
So now maybe it’s even… And I’m still looking. Tmobile you’re looking better by the minute.

Their servers ping out, their API fails … you can’t even update or change your profile picture without dying out. A good idea (I guess) but a poor implementation of same. FAIL. 0 out of 5 jalapenos.

Out of the blue my Windows PC just stops working like it always does … even with the new Windows 7. There just seems to be some things that for whatever reason just kill Windows to the point of ignoring the end-user (be it memory, hard drive access, I/O errors, WHATEVER) … The ONLY OS from Windows that I recall that didn’t have this woe was Windows 2000, and if I recall that was more or less based on NT which Microsoft got from somewhere else … ? Anywho … my Mac Mini running OSX … never dies. I’m sure there are things that I could do that would hose it, but I’ve not found them. I’m not a Mac lover, I’m just tired of Windows locking up and me looking at the screen with something that wasn’t saved immediately that I’m going to have to copy down because Windows just decided to freeze for no reason. UGH.
Man, without the Digg thing working, I’ve gone to Reddit …

There really wasn’t anything on the Digg site that Reddit doesn’t have save for the publishing piece (that’s still not working and Digg is doing NOTHING about it) — so skip that place. I’ve moved and am liking how Reddit is much better and doesn’t have the “power submitters” that game the Digg site.

No really, that’s the name of the case.
The Eighth Circuit Appeals Court recently ruled that police may seize cash from motorists, citing that “possession of a large sum of cash is “strong evidence” of a connection to drug activity.” Gonzales was never charged with any crime, but his cash was stolen by police anyway.
