So what do you do when your 3 backups fail all at once?

Man … I cannot believe I’m writing this, but my backup plan for data has failed me horribly here at home … I’m reduced to having to use a freaking Undelete program on my 2nd backup drive (that does not have any harddrive activity outside of backing up those files thankfully).
My problem was that I relied on one single program - SyncBack SE … it somehow failed me today and instead of doing a backup, it went through and deleted all of my data. WTF Chuck? Well, now it’s off to look for a new backup program out there as this one obviously failed me bigtime.
Any help with this would be much appreciated …

That’s weird! I’ve never used SyncBack SE but I have looked at the way it works. I don’t see how it could delete all your files, during a backup or a sync. Sounds like something I don’t want to try. Have you tried Cobian Backup? I haven’t used it yet myself but it does seem to have scheduling, networking and FTP Server capabilities for backing up.
Here’s the Cobian download Link, at PCWorld:

I just started using a SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 2GB drive to do back-ups and syncs, but with only 2GB of storage, it’s really only good for those files and folders that you decide need it, not a HDD backup. The Titanium comes with pre-installed software, called CruzerSync and PocketCache, that allows for synchronized backups of regularly changed files such as spreadsheets, Outlook e-mails and Address Book, plus CruzerLock for encryption of sensitive data.
If you’re doing full HDD back-ups, have you thought about a tape back-up? That’s what my IT professor used at his home business while working for Cisco Systems and he set it up to automatically do back-ups at the same time each day. In the meantime, I’ll look around for other software driven back-ups for you. Let me know if you find one that works and that you like, since I could use one myself. I’ve just had nothing but problems with software back-ups myself and I got tired of losing my data. My computers have RAID capacity too but I’ve never used that. Can’t you use RAID and a back-up HDD to back things up? You’d know more about that than I do.
