Why is America plagued with Incompetance?

So I’m getting a home equity loan right? Heh, you talk to the person, they tell you what you want to hear … I asked specifically if they will need anything more after this portion, and they say no … so I get the packets in the mail and … TA DA … tons of stuff to send back to get approved. Now this ticks me off because all the agent had to do was say, “I don’t know” or “it depends” or something … don’t lie, because that ticks people off. I’m all ticked off right now, and I can say one of two things: either the agent was lying, or she didn’t know and is incompetant. One or the other, but it can’t be otherwise, and that just sucks. America: Home of the Free, Land of Incompetance? I think so… ![]()

I totally agree. I’ve never subscribed to the idea of “If you can’t dazzle ‘em with brilliance, baffle ‘em with bull!” philosophy, or lack thereof of any true philosophy. I’m American, born and raised, yet if I don’t have an answer, I honestly say “I don’t know”, then most likely will add “Let me see if I can find the answer for you.”. I’ve never understood why more people don’t think the way I do. Guess I’m just odd, not part of the status quo majority it would seem. I’m ticked with you, only because I’ve been where you are and it fires up those old engrams when I’d felt the same way you do now! Know that you’re not alone, if that’s any comfort. Some of us do actually think as you do, myself being among them.
