So…. where have I been anywho…. :-)

LONG story, but it’s been B U S Y here in southwestern Texas. Had some meetings, had some other meetings, and did some work. Otherwise, all is going very well. The little lady is indeed moving down in two weeks, which rocks! It’s been quite a long time coming too I might add. Argh.

So, rant time a bit — did you know that the terrorists / Iraqi combatants have VIDEOS of their supposed “elite” sniper taking out our guys? It’s sick. I saw a couple of them, and all I can think of when I see that is some mother losing her son back home for … what? Not WMDs … not terrorism (bin Laden is still on the loose, Saddam wasn’t linked to it, yadda yadda) … I’m just getting to a point that this country looks like it is going to fail because we haven’t had good leadership in the presidentcy since Reagan, and it shows. How sad this is to watch the nation wither and for around half of the US is too stupid to even realize it. I guess we’ll just have to wait for us to hit rock bottom and then try to rebuild as best we can — although moving to a more enlightened country such as Norway or Sweden is a very tempting choice heh. Blah. Stupid two-party system and professional politicians … sucks that the highest positions in the country are bought and sold instead of anything else presently. blah, this country needs an enema.

“This Country needs an enema” LOL & wanting to cry at the same time, only because it’s true (and very sad)! I haven’t seen the video you speak of but I believe you. It’s a real mess! When I was in grade school, not too many decades ago, we were taught in History/Civics class that the Republicans were for big business and the Democrats were for the little guy. It seems to me that when Democrats are in high office, they fold to big business too and only pretend to be for the little guy as a means of getting votes. Republicans can sometimes be more involved, doing things for the little guy, than Democrats. It all depends on their agenda at any given moment in time. It seems more about all the money and the votes these days, wielding the sword of power and not what either side can do to make the people here in America a home they can be proud of. We still have Americans living in poverty, we still have brethren (both men and women) dieing overseas, we still have people suffering from illness and disease due to large pharmaceutical companies and physicians paying off politicians to keep drug prices high and keep working drugs unavailable to Americans that need them. Other countries have cheaper pharmaceuticals; other countries provide medications that work. What’s wrong with this picture? Take chronic pain sufferers as one example. They need to go through multiple doctors and many trials of drugs with severe side effects, instead of just providing meds that work. It can take years and a persons’ entire life savings trying to get help with the pain, still many never get relief and some even die trying. Go somewhere like Australia, Canada or even China and if in pain you get opiates that work, not Prozac or some other psychotropic drug that makes you kill your family and friends from the side effects. You can get crack and heroin easier than getting a pain script from a doctor in this country. The drug companies and politicians see to that. (Now who’s ranting?) ;-(

I’m leaving it here, on this topic. I could go on for hours about what I’ve not only seen first hand but what I’ve also experienced as a chronic pain sufferer and an American myself. It’s all so screwed up. Elections are now about just trying to decide which will be the lesser of two evils these days, regardless of party affiliation. No wonder it’s difficult to get people to vote!
