On the road again …

Well, in about 30 minutes I’ll be heading back down to San Antonio — this time for good. I will be finding a place to stay and then my better half will be joining me. Ugh …. I’ve done this drive too many times here lately (actually the average is 1 1/2 times per month since September). 1012 miles to go. Argh.
At least it’s all I-10 the whole way. I can dig that because it’s not too bad. And with my new car (2006 Saab 9-3 Aero) being a Turbo, the gas mileage is not bad at all. Coming up from San Antonio, it took me only 2 1/2 tanks for the entire trip whereas going down in my 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (ok 12mpg but it had 598rwhp/554rwtq) took 8. Sucks. This isn’t a bad thing, and the interior of the Saab blows the ‘Stang out of the water, no matter how much I loved the power. This Turbo’d v-6 isn’t too bad though, I gotta admit (and besides, ANYTHING is a step down in power from almost 600rwhp).

January 9th, 2006 at 5:34 pmWell, after a 14 hr drive straight through I made it here … El Paso to San Antonio has got to be the WORST drive (boring) as I can think of for the US. Had a nap and now I’m back to normal.
